Lightpath Health is a nonprofit dedicated to expanding access to primary care for uninsured individuals, and helping communities thrive. Their goal was to create a welcoming, accessible digital presence that reflected their mission of compassionate care.
The Neighbour Approach: A Community-First Mindset
My Role:
I designed the website’s structure and flow in Figma, ensuring an intuitive and inclusive user experience. Then, I built the site in WordPress, optimizing functionality and scalability. While the core branding was already established, I integrated colors from the parent brand (Catalyst Health Group) to create a bolder, more engaging identity that aligned with Lightpath Health’s unique mission.
Lightpath Health wanted to ensure that patients and potential patients felt welcomed and valued.
Instead of using clinical or transactional terms, they embraced a Neighbour approach—referring to patients as “Enrolled Neighbours” rather than “Enrolled Patients.”
Buyer Persona's
You’re an individual [neighbor] without insurance looking for access to primary care in your area.
The area you live in does not have very many resources for individuals without insurance if any at all. You heard about Lightpath Health and looked for them online but they don’t have a website.
You’re an individual [neighbor] already enrolled with Lightpath Health.
You need to access the online portal to make an appointment. You’re also looking for location and contact information.
You’re a donor looking to financially support Lightpath Health’s mission.
The Challenges:
- Balancing a professional healthcare presence with a welcoming, community-oriented feel.
- Ensuring easy navigation for a diverse audience, including individuals unfamiliar with healthcare systems.
- Finding imagery that reflected the nonprofit’s diverse patient base while maintaining authenticity.
- Creating a site that could grow with the nonprofit’s expanding impact.

The Solution:
- Implemented warm, engaging language and visuals while maintaining clarity and professionalism.
- Designed a simple, intuitive flow with clear calls to action, making key services easy to access
- Carefully sourced and curated photography that captured warmth, approachability, and a true sense of community.
- Developed in WordPress with a flexible content structure, allowing Lightpath Health to update and scale their website as needed.
